HSC brand to be ditched for Carphone makeover

HSC to be rebranded as Carphone Warehouse on June 1 in a move that will give the retailer the widest reach in the UK B2B market under a single brand

HSC is to be rebranded as Carphone Warehouse (CPW) on June 1, the two companies have confirmed.

The decision comes seven years after CPW paid £10 million for HSC (then called Hugh Symons Communications) in December 2005.

On completion CPW will have the biggest reach in the UK B2B market under a single brand.

Business development manager claims breach of contract and says he was forced out after trying to expose attempts by the company to “massage” customer contracts

B2B dealer Intercity is to appear before an employment tribunal next month, accused of forcing out an employee who tried to blow the whistle on alleged illegal activities relating to customer contracts.

Pandeep Scharma worked as business development manager for the Birmingham-based firm before resigning in October 2010. He is also claiming breach of contract.

Scharma claims he was forced out after trying to expose what he describes as attempts by the company to “massage” customer contracts.

Operator expresses disappointment at the reactions of Three, Vodafone and O2 after they accuse it of trying to influence the government’s decision on 4G roll-out

Everywhere (EE) says it is disappointed by the reaction of its network rivals following the launch of its ‘4G Britain’ campaign last week.

The 4G Britain website, which went live on April 30, includes information on the benefits of 4G and how it could contribute an extra £7.5 billion a year to the UK economy within a decade.

EE said the site is designed to help speed up the roll-out of 4G services in the UK.
